When the idling jitter of the engine is severe, the fueling is weak, and the exhaust gas smells of gasoline, etc., it will also cause an increase in fuel consumption. At this time, you should pay attention to whether there is a problem with the ignition coil of your car. Today, the owner's guide will explain the detection steps of the three-wire ignition coil for everyone.
step one:
Put the vehicle ignition switch in the "ON" position. Then unplug the ignition coil, use one end of the multimeter to measure the 3rd pin, and the other end to measure the ground wire. If the voltage between the pin and the ground wire is about 12V, go to the next step; if not, check the circuit.
Step 2:
Unplug the ignition coil, use one end of the multimeter to measure the No. 1 pin, and the other end to measure the 5# pin of the ECU to see if there is a short circuit or open circuit. If there is, check the circuit; if not, go to the next step.
Step 3:
Unplug the ignition coil, use a multimeter to measure pin 2 at one end, and measure pin 2 # of the ECU at the other end to see if there is a short circuit or open circuit. If there is, check the circuit; if not, go to the next step.
Step 4:
Use a multimeter to measure whether the resistance of the primary coil of the sensor is 0.9Ω, if so, go to the next step; if not, replace the ignition coil.
Step 5:
Use a multimeter to measure whether the resistance of the primary coil of the sensor is 14.5Ω, if so, go to the next step; if not, replace the ignition coil.
However, these are professional operations, and it is not recommended for car owners to test and repair the ignition coil by themselves. If you suspect that there is a problem with the ignition coil, you must go to a professional repair shop or 4S shop for repair.
